Add a Medicine to your Medicine Cabinet

In Breedr, the medicine cabinet lets you record and track all medicines on the farm, automatically updating quantities after each application to an animal/s. It's important to keep medicine names and batch numbers current.

Each medicine should be listed once, with batches added under the existing entry. Avoid duplicating medicines. To go straight to adding a batch to an existing medicine in your cabinet, click here.

How to add a new medicine to your cabinet via the mobile app:

1. Menu > Medicine cabinet
2. Click 'Create'. Note: if this medicine is already in your cabinet and you are just adding a new batch, please click to go to this section
3. 'Medicine' = to select a medicine from our database taken directly from the NOAH Compendium. Note: select 'Custom medicine' to fill out the form manually instead if your medicine is not in the database
4. From this page, you have two alternative routes. Again, go to Custom entry if you cannot bring up medicine details following steps 4a or b:
   1. it is simplest to select 'Scan barcode' 
      
      ai.  Scan the barcode on the outer packaging of your medicine packet 
      
      aii. As soon as the camera picks up the medicine details, you will come to this screen where you can fill out any other details required
      
      
   2. you can use the Search bar to type in your medicine name
      
      bi.  tap on the correct medicine once it pops up. If it does not show, select 'Enter manually' 
      
      bii. detail pull across from the database and you can fill out any further details required
   
   
   
5. Once your details are filled out correctly > 'Save to Cabinet'
6. Your medicine will display in your cabinet with the amount of batches and amount remaining

How to add a new 'Custom medicine' (one not in the database) to your cabinet via the mobile app:

How to add another batch to an existing medicine in your cabinet via the mobile app:

1. Find and select the medicine you want to add a new batch to. Note: head to 'Empty'/'Expired'/'Archived' tab if your medicine is not visible under 'Available' 
2. 'Create'
3. Details pull across
4. Fill out new 'Batch number' and 'Expiry date' and other details you wish to > 'Save to Cabinet'
5. Green banner to confirm the addition.
6. Swipe across at the top, to the left, to view your new batch. Note: the administering of a medicine with multiple batches works whereby the system uses up the older batch first before using the most recent.
