Add a medicine to your medicine cabinet

In Breedr, your medicine cabinet enables you to record and track all medicines on the farm, automatically updating quantities after each use. It's important to keep medicine names and batch numbers up-to-date. 

Each medicine should be listed once, with batches added under the existing entry. Avoid duplicating medicines. To go straight to adding a batch to an existing medicine in your cabinet, click here.

Add a new medicine to your cabinet via the mobile app:

1. Go to 'Menu' > 'Medicine cabinet'.
2. Click 'Create'.
3. You can then select 'Medicine' to select a medicine for our database, taken directly from the NOAH Compendium, or select 'Custom Medicine' to manually enter medicines that are not in the database.
   
4. From this page, you can either. Again, go to Custom entry if you cannot bring up medicine details following steps 4a or b:
   1. Scan the medicine details straight into Breedr by selecting 'Scan barcode'. 
      1. Scan the barcode on the outer packaging of your medicine packet.
      2. As soon as the camera picks up the medicine details, you will come to this screen, where you can fill out any other details required.
   2. Use the search bar to type in your medicine name.
      1. Tap on the correct medicine once it appears in the search list. If it does not show, select 'Enter manually'.
      2. Medicine details will pull across from the database, and you can fill out any other details as required.
5. Once your details are filled out correctly, select 'Save to Cabinet'.
6. Your medicine will display in your cabinet with the batches and amount remaining.

Add a new custom medicine to your cabinet via the mobile app:

Add another batch to an existing medicine in your cabinet via the mobile app:

1. Find and select the medicine you want to add a new batch to.
2. 'Create'.
3. The medicine details should all pull across.
4. Fill out the new 'Batch number', 'Expiry date', and other details you wish to > 'Save to Cabinet'.
5. You will then see a green banner at the top of your screen to confirm the addition.
6. Swipe left at the top to view your new batch.
