Crush Setup overview

Crush Setup allows you to set up parameters to draft animals based on conditions you choose before you start a weighing session

What is Crush Setup?

Crush Setup allows you to set up conditions in which you want to draft your animal/s into prerecorded groups and/or a location. You can weigh animals right away after setting up the crush, or save as a template to use for future weighing sessions.

Where to find Crush Setup?

From your Breedr homescreen, either head to the 'Quick Weigh/Manage Crush' button (left) or the 'Sessions' tab (right) to find the 'Crush Setup' button.

Crush Setup flow:

  1. Add the 'Template name' and expected number of animals in the draft. You can select 'Add activity +' if you want to additionally match up animal IDs and/or add financial information against every animal in the session, or just head straight to step 3.
  2. If you select either/both activities, this will produce a pop-up when the animal is entered into the field for you to fill out before recording each weight.
    1. Update Animal IDs: You can update and/or match EIDs and VIDs with the option of including the Pedigree ID too.
    2. Animal Value Calculator: Set the price per kg for either live or carcass weight to view the purchase price, current estimated value and change (estimated profit, from purchase to sale value).
  3. Tap 'Add Draft +' to add your drafting parameters.
    1. Choose which preloaded group/location to draft animals into, add a drafting label and choose a colour to display as your drafted animals.1-Nov-28-2024-11-46-59-6152-AM
    2. Choose weight range and/or sex and/or days on farm conditions to draft.
  4. Check drafting details and add as many drafts as required. You can then select 'Start' (go straight to step 8) or tap 'Save as template'.
  5. If you save the template, you will be back on the Sessions landing page. When you're ready to get weighing, tap 'See Templates'.2-Nov-28-2024-12-26-26-4603-PM
  6. Select the template you've created. This template will be available on all devices on your account.
  7. Check the template and make any adjustments you need > 'Start'.
  8. Check your draft/s are displaying on the weigh screen and start weighing.3-Nov-28-2024-12-26-26-4628-PM
  9. As the weight displays on the screen or is manually typed in, your animal/s will automatically flag up to draft if the animal fits the drafting criteria according to the parameters set.
  10. If you'd like to override the draft decision, simply tap the draft box. The tick and corresponding colour will disappear to show the animal is no longer included in the draft.4-3

To pause your session to return to another time (on that individual device only):

  1. 'Pause'.
  2. 'Finish Later'.
  3. You can come back to this session by heading to 'Active Sessions' and selecting the session to resume recording.

To save and finish your session and allow all users to see the session:

  1. 'Pause'.
  2. 'Save and finish'.
    1. If you have good internet connection, your session will save straight away and go into the 'Finished Sessions' folder. This session will then be available on all devices on the account, and you will be able to see the session on your web app in 30 minutes.
    2. If you do not have internet, your session will remain in 'Active Sessions' and only be available on the device it was recorded on. It will save when you are back in good coverage (make sure you wait a couple of minutes in good reception before you open your app, where it will automatically save).

To view this data on the web app:

  1. Go to the 'Reports' centre.
  2. 'Sessions'. Here you have the option to see all weigh sessions.

Top Tip: Use the filters in the Sessions report to narrow down your results.
