Moving animals between holdings

You can move animals easily between holdings on Breedr by moving them to a new location, creating movements from each holding which can be sent to BCMS/ScotEID

Moving animals off one holding and onto another of your holdings from your mobile or web app is a two-step process: 

  1. Move your animals to the new location.
  2. Go to your Regulatory Dashboard to either 'Send to BCMS/ScotEID', 'Change date', 'Don't Send' or 'Undo' movements.

Top Tip: If you have connected your additional holding to BCMS/ScotEID, then go to your Regulatory Dashboard and click 'Send to BCMS/ScotEID' to complete your move-off event first, which consequently processes your move-on event too.

Move animals between your holdings from your 'My Cattle' page in the mobile app:

  1. From your 'My Cattle' tab, use filters/groups/locations/tags/search bar to narrow down your animal search > 'Manage'.
  2. 'Manage'.
  3. Tick the animal/s you wish to mark off-farm > 'Manage'.create alert against one-2
  4. 'Move to location'.
  5. Select the holding you are sending these animals to using the dropdown arrow. Select the movement date > 'Submit'.dashboard-2

 

Bulk move animals from the same group/location/tag between your holdings in the mobile app:

Simply head to the 'Groups', 'Locations' or 'Tags' tab > find the cohort of animals you want to move to a new location > swipe left to display the 'Move Cattle' option > select the 'Date' and 'Location' > 'Submit'.

 

Approve movements in your Regulatory Dashboard on the web app:

You will see the same number appear in both the 'Move OFF' and 'Move ON' rows. Click on the number in the 'Ready to Approve' column in the 'Move OFF' row first to bring up animal/s that you have just moved between holdings. Select animal/s you want to approve. Selected animal/s have a green tickbox to the left of them.

  • You can tap the top left box of the table if you want to bulk select the list.
  • Individually select an animal/s by selecting boxes to the left of the table against a specific animal/s.

Then select:

  • 'Send to BCMS/Scot EID' to notify BCMS/ScotEID of the movements.
  • 'Change date' (if you notice the movement date is incorrect) and then proceed to 'Send to BCMS/ScotEID'.

Alternatively, select:

  • 'Don't Send' if you have already reported directly to BCMS/ScotEID outside of Breedr and/or do not use Breedr for your BCMS/ScotEID movements.
  • 'Undo' if you'd like to revert/undo the movement.

This will also send through the move-on event, so both the move-off and move-on events will be sent across to BCMS/ScotEID.
