Record vet & med activities in Breedr

You can record a number of veterinarian and medical activities, such as administering medicine from your cabinet or recording test results in Breedr

Top Tip: Anytime you see the yellow 'Manage' button in the app, you can record an activity. Click here to find out how to record an activity in Crush mode instead.

Note: We highly recommend recording all medical events through the 'Administer from cabinet' option to ensure your medicine cabinet is automatically updated as you administer medicine. See the Medicine Cabinet section of our Help Centre to learn how to set up your medicine cabinet first before applying medicine to your animal/s.

Record vet & med activities in the mobile app:

  1. Head to 'My Cattle' and select 'Manage' to select multiple animals to record activities against. If you'd like to add an activity to an individual animal, go straight to step 4.
  2. 'Manage'.
  3. Select animals by tapping the tickbox to the right of the animal/s. Select as many animals as required > 'Manage'.activities123
  4. 'Log activity'.

  6. You will then be asked whether you want to:
    1. Log 'Generic Vet Med': select the 'Date', 'Name' of medicine, 'Reason', 'Batch number', 'Dosage', and optionally add the 'Active Ingredient' and any notes > 'Save'. Use this method if a vet has applied the medicine, as this does not update your medicine cabinet inventory.
    2. 'Administer from cabinet': select the 'Date' and 'Medicine' from the dropdown. This will then allow you to select the 'Batch number', 'Quantity administered', 'Withdrawal', 'Reason', and optionally add any notes > 'Save'.vetmed6ab
    3. Log 'TB Test': select the 'Date' and 'Result', and optionally add the 'Vet Used' and any comments > 'Save'.
    4. Log 'BVD Test': select the 'Date', 'Results', and optionally add any comments > 'Save'.
    5. Log 'Johne's Disease Test': select the 'Date', 'Results', and optionally add any comments > 'Save'.vetmedcde

 

Record vet & med activities in the web app:

From the 'My Cattle' page, you can select individual or multiple animals to record various activities, each of which is subsequently stored within the individual history of the selected animal/s.

To apply the same details to all selected animals, choose 'To all selected animals'. To apply different details for each animal within the cohort, select 'To individual animals'.

There are a number of reports available in the web app to analyse performance on farm:

  • The Herd Health report gives you an overview of treatments administered to your herd as a whole.

  • The Medicine Book report allows you to view all medicines applied to all animals for compliance purposes.

  • The Medicine Record report gives you an overview of medication reasons, medicine activities, and an overview of your Medicine Cabinet.
