Updating EIDs/VIDs via csv import
You can update animal's Electronic or Visual IDs via a csv import on your Breedr web app.
To update (either add or edit) your animal's Electronic ID (EID) or Visual ID (VID) tag numbers, you first need to create a csv file.
What information do you need in the csv file in order to update EID/VID tag numbers in Breedr?
- Animal ID [passport number or EID number]
- EID and/or
- VID
If required, you can click and download this Update ID template in order to create your csv file.
Upload your carcass sale csv file onto your Breedr web app account through the csv import:
- Select Import data > 'Import Cattle'
- Upload your csv file by clicking 'Upload file' > select file > 'Upload'
- Click 'Next', or, if you have uploaded the incorrect file, select 'Change file'
- Untick 'Allow create' and tick 'Allow Edit' circled above.
Match the column headers using the dropdown arrows (circled above). To assign a column header, change the white field labeled 'IGNORE' (do not include column) to the appropriate header.-
Green indicates an exact match with our system’s column headers.
-
Yellow means the system has made an assumed match, or you've manually selected a header.
Important: Please double-check that all column headers are correctly matched before clicking 'Finish upload'.
-
- A green banner will display if you have successfully updated your IDs against animals in the system. Click 'View All Animals' to check their updated info.
-
Remember to head to 'Columns' > tick EID and/or VID column headers > Save if you want the EID and/or VIDs to display in the My Cattle table
