Tips for reliable performance in the field:
Charge everything before you start. Low battery is the most common cause of dropped Bluetooth connections mid-session. Charge your phone, iPad, EID reader, and weigh head to 100% the night before a chute session.
Keep the Breedr app updated. Enable automatic app updates on your phone or check the App Store / Google Play before each session. Running an outdated version of Breedr can cause compatibility issues with equipment and missing features.
Close background apps during sessions. On both iOS and Android, too many apps running in the background can slow Breedr's Bluetooth performance. Close unused apps before starting a session.
Set iPad Auto-Lock to Never. A sleeping iPad during a chute session risks losing session data and drops the hotspot connection. Go to Settings > Display and Brightness > Auto-Lock > Never before every session. See Connect an iPad to a Hotspot.
Sync before going offline. Open Breedr on a good signal before heading to the field so it downloads the latest animal data. See Online vs Offline Mode.
