Log a birth in Breedr

Log a new live birth or stillbirth against a dam on your mobile app; births can be registered directly with BCMS/ScotEID if your account is synced

Log new live births or still births against dams, with the option to additionally record the sire, management tags, service type, birthing ease, offspring vigour and birth weight.  

To log a live birth through Breedr is a simple two-step process:

  1. Record a birth on your mobile app.
  2. Go to your Regulatory Dashboard to either 'Send to BCMS/ScotEID', 'Don't Send' or 'Undo' registrations.

     

Note: Make sure you have entered the passport number, breed, DOB and sex of the animal correctly. If you want to register the birth directly with BCMS/ScotEID, make sure registrations are switched on within your account settings before you record a birth.

Record a birth in the mobile app:

  1. On the homepage, select 'Log Birth'.
  2. Either 'Search for DAM' or use the Bluetooth icon in the upper right to connect to your EID reader to scan the dam's ear tag.
  3. Select the dam's ID number.create alert against one-1
  4. Select the date of birth and the 'Number of Live Offspring', and/or 'Number of Stillborn Animals', as applicable. Click 'Finish and create individual/s'.
  5. Enter the required details to log the calves' registration.
  6. You can also optionally record additional animal details, such as 'Birthing Ease' and 'Offspring Vigour'. Once you have entered the details you wish to enter, click 'Save and finish'.create alert against 1-1
  7. You'll see this screen display, where you can then select 'Finish' or 'View DAM' to see animal details.log birth

 

Approve registrations in your Regulatory Dashboard on the web app:

Click on the number in the 'Ready to Approve' column to bring up animal/s that you have just registered birth/s for. Select the animal/s you want to approve. Selected animal/s have a green tickbox to the left of them.

  • You can tap the top left box of the table if you want to bulk select the list.
  • Individually select an animal/s by selecting boxes to the left of the table against a specific animal/s.


Then select:

  • 'Send to BCMS/ScotEID' to notify BCMS/ScotEID of the registrations.

Alternatively, select:

  • 'Don't Send' if you have already reported directly to BCMS/ScotEID outside of Breedr and/or do not use Breedr for your BCMS/ScotEID birth registrations.
  • 'Undo' if you'd like to revert/undo the registration.
