Log a birth in Breedr

Log new live births or still births against Dams, with the option to additionally record the sire; management tags; service type; birthing ease; offspring vigour and birth weight.  

To log a live birth through Breedr is a simple two step process from the mobile app:

1. Record a birth on your mobile app
2. Go to your Regulatory dashboard  to either 'Approve and send' to register the live birth with BCMS; 'Abort (do not send)' registration or 'Reject' (undo/revert) birth record. N.B. 

   make sure you have entered the passport number, the DOB and sex of the animal correctly.

Record a birth event:

1. Go to your mobile app and from the dashboard, select 'Log Birth'
2. Either 'Search for DAM' or use the bluetooth icon in the upper right to connect to your EID reader to scan the Dam's ear tag
3. Select the Dam's ID number
4. Select the date and the number of 'Live Offspring' > Finish and create individual/s
   Note: Select the number under 'Number of Stillborn Animals' if you are recording a stillbirth and then select 'Finish'
5. Enter in all the required details to log the calves registration
6. You will see further details that can be optionally recorded > Save and finish
7. Successfully logged screen should display where you can then select 'Finish' or 'View DAM' to see animal details

Second step - head to your Regulatory Dashboard on the web app:

Click on the number in the 'Ready to Approve' column to bring up animal/s that you have just recorded the birth of. Animal/s show up in the table below where you need to select the animal/s in order to register them. Selected animal/s have a green tickbox to the left of them, as above.

• You can tap the top left box of the table (circled) if you want to bulk select the list, or,
• Individually select an animal/s, by individually ticking boxes to the left of each animal

 Then select:

• 'Approve and send' to notify BCMS/ScotEID of the movements/registrations

Alternatively, select:

• 'Abort (do not send)' if you have already reported directly to BCMS/ScotEID outside of Breedr and/or do not use Breedr for your BCMS birth registrations
• 'Reject' if you'd like to revert/undo the registration
