Log a Pregnancy Check

Set the pregnancy status, automatically calculate the estimated calving date, and create a due-date alert on the Breedr app

Logging a pregnancy test activity will set the pregnancy status of the animal, automatically estimate the calving date, and create an alert on the proposed due date.

These instructions show how to log a preg check in Chute Mode. Do log a preg check without using Chute Mode, navigate to the individual animal, and follow Steps 2-4.

Step-by-Step

  1. Scan the animal in the chute, checking that the weight is registered on the app.

  2. Click '+ Manage' and then 'Log activity.'

  3. Select 'Breeding' and then select 'Preg check'.

  4. Enter the Activity date, the result of the test (open or bred), days bred (days since conception), and the sire, if known.

Visit this guide to learn how to add a sire.

  5. Select 'Pause' and then 'Save and finish'.

Note: 'Return to session later' will only store this session locally on the device. It must be saved to view across devices.

Once a positive test has been logged, a due date will be created automatically and viewed under alerts.

Estimated Conception Date is calculated by subtracting the days since conception estimate from the date of the pregnancy test.

Estimated Due Date is calculated as 283 days from the estimated conception date.
