Add Animals - Mobile App
Add your cattle to Breedr one at a time directly from your phone or tablet. This is the best method when you're working with a small number of animals, adding new arrivals, or recording a single calf at birth.
Adding a larger herd? If you have more than 10–15 animals to add at once, it's faster to upload a spreadsheet. See Add Animals - File Upload for instructions.
Have an EID reader? The fastest way to get a herd into Breedr for the first time is to scan EIDs in Chute Mode. See Get Started with Chute Mode.
How to add an animal:
- From the Home screen, tap "Add Animal."
- Fill in the animal's details. Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are required: you cannot save the record without completing them.
- Tap "Save and Finish" when done, or "Save and Create Another" to add the next animal immediately without returning to the Home screen.
- A green check confirms the animal has been saved to your account.

You don't need to fill in every field right now. The required fields get the animal into your account, you can always edit and add more information later. See Edit Animal Information to update a record after saving.
Adding a newborn calf? Use today's date as the Date of Birth and Date on Ranch. You can log the birth as an activity separately to capture calving ease, birth weight, and dam details, see Log a Birth - Mobile.
Duplicate ID Warning: If you enter an EID or Visual ID that already exists in your account, Breedr will flag it before you save. Check your existing records before adding the animal again.
